Synopsis :
 This book is a reference catalogue of canteen tokens issued in India since 1939. These metallic tokens were issued by various establishments, government as well as non-government, for use in their own premises only. The concept of Canteen Tokens developed in industrial, commercial, military, catering and other such units during the time of the World War II. Such tokens were mainly used in the cotton mills of western India. Hotels, tea stalls, etc. in different parts of India still use canteen tokens. These are made of various metals like brass, copper, aluminum, etc. The Guide has catalogued canteen tokens of major establishments like mills, military, banks, etc. who issued them. 295 tokens have been catalogued with details like the issuer, location, metal, weight, size shape, value and descriptions of obverse and reverse.
