167.  Swadeshi Token, Silver, 10.7 g, 20th century, Abhisheka Lakshmi on obv; within a Hindu religious Yantra, Nagari legend propagating the use of country-made articles, svadeshi / vastu kharid karma / e apna param / dhram re. Octagonal, Very Fine, Scarce.

Seals

168.  Emerald Seal, 14 carat, Persian inscription in negative in two lines within a double rectangle. A small corner is chipped off otherwise in a beautiful condition with intact inscription, Great Rarity in such a precious gem!

169.  Silver Seals (8), a collection of eight seals issued between 1812 and 1885 belonging to various officers like Mir Mahbub Ali, Mir Dawar Ali, and like. All are dated in AH years and collectively weigh 80 gm. Nicely engraved with Mughal calligraphy, two of them are with handles at the back, one is a signet ring, and one seal is engraved in negative on both the sides, indicating the re-use of an older seal by the a person called Mir Sayyed Mu’azzam, the older is dated 1219 while the newer is dated 1226. All are in exceptionally good condition, Rare as a lot. (8)

170.  Lac Seal of East India Company, Lac, 79.3 gm, Document Seal used for sealing Paper Documents sent through Post in early 19th century by the officers of the East India Company. Strings are still attached on the sides. Very Fine+ for the type, Unusually intact and attractive.

171.  Tipu Sultan Seringapatam Medal, Pewter medal with clasp, the British Lion defeating the Tiger of Mysore (Tipoo Sultan) with the date of the capture of the fortress 4th May 1799; rev depicts: the assault on Seringapatam. The British and Native troops who took part in the renewed campaign against Tipoo Sultan were awarded this medal in 1808. Suspension with ring, Fine+, Rare.

172.  Calcutta International Exhibition, 1883-84, Silver, crowned bust of Queen Victoria, Awarded to “The Proprietors of the Pictorial World”. Extremely Fine, Very Rare.

173.  Calcutta International Exhibition, silver medal, 1883, by J. S. & A. B. Wyon, crowned draped bust of Queen Victoria looking left, reverse Britannia standing and India seated, receive assorted goods in exchange for tea etc. from four figures symbolic of the Empire, a pagoda in the distance. Similar to Puddester # 883.2.1 Unrecorded in silver, Extremely Rare.

175.  George V and Queen Mary Medal, Lead, Presented by N R Mehta of Karachi. Busts of George and Mary on obv; elephant to left with coconut trees in the background, ribbon below and legend below. Suspension ring through a hole in the top field. Some dents in the edge, About Extremely Fine, Rare.

179.  Autograph of President H. E. Shri Varahagiri Venkata (V. V.) Giri, the fourth President of the Republic of India, on a first day cover and stamp. Shri Giri started his career as a labour leader & was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha & later served as a Governor. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1975.

180.  Autograph of President H. E. Shri Zail Singh on letter pad, the eleventh President of the Republic of India. He had previously served as a Chief Minister & the Home Minister. Autograph of Shri S. Chandrasekhar, Minister for Health & Family Planning. Autograph of Dr. S. K. Rathi, with 6 stamps on an envelope, all these stamps have been recommended by Dr. Rathi to the Dept. of Posts.
