Carrippa then holding rank of kGeneral was the Commander in Chief of Indian Army being appointed on 15th January 1949.

Each of these have autographs of (i) H E Rajmata Krishna Kumari, the wife of the late Maharaja Hanmat Singh who signed the Accession Document thereby Jodhpur State was merged into Indian Union; (ii) H H Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur; and (iii) H E Maharani Hemlata Raje. 299. Album of Subhash Chandra Bose containing 54 Photos of AZAD HIND including an autograph of Subhash Chandra Bose. AZAD HIND FAUJ:- 54 Photographs numbered 1 to 54 pasted on 12 black folios in a later day album. The photos are of day to day activities of Indian National Army formed from volunteers of Indian POW’s (Prisoner of Wars) taken by Germany in North Africa. The Division was stationed in a small German town of Koenigsbruck. At photo No. 2 is Captain Kurt Gerber who was a German officer training the Indian Volunteers. Subhash Chandra Bose is seen in photographs 18 to 22, 24 to 28. Photograph 28 has Subhash Chandra Bose autograph. Also pasted in the Album is an article by Dinkar Sakrikar from the Times of India, Sunday January 26, 1969 titled “The Brave Men of the Azad Hind Fauj”. Photographs in excellent condition. The Album was gifted by Captain Kurt Gerber to the present owner an Indian Engineer in 1969.

Hand written letter & signed by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, written to the Chief Commissioner of the Mandalay Jail, requesting the Chief Commissioner to visit him as he had a conflict with the Acting Superintendent of the Jail. Netaji was jailed in October of 1924 & was first kept in the Alipore Jail and then exiled to Mandalay where he spent nearly 3 years, he was released in May 1927.
