It is recorded in the sacred literature that after performing the Ashvamedha Yajna, the Emperor will play a Veena in front of the Horse of the Yajna to please him and than the Horse will be let loose to roam around the country and the army will follow it to conquer that land. The present coin is an important issue that follow the Ashvamedha coins of Samudragupta. A tangible evidence to what has been said in the religious books!
